Privacy Policy

KONEssance Math is designed for learners from Kindergarten to Grade 12, including children under 13. In line with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), accounts for children under 13 are created and controlled by a parent, guardian, or teacher — never by the child directly.

We collect only the information needed to run lessons and track learning progress. We do not require children to provide personal contact details, and we never ask children for information beyond what is necessary for the educational service.

When schools and teachers use KONEssance Math, student progress data constitutes an education record. Consistent with the U.S. Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), we act as a school official with a legitimate educational interest and process this data only under the direction of the school.

Schools and parents may request access to, correction of, or deletion of a student's records. Teachers and districts control who can view student progress data within their classroom or organization.

Account information provided by the parent, teacher, or adult account holder (such as name and email for the account owner), a learner's first name or display name, chosen grade level and language, and learning activity such as exercises attempted, answers, mastery scores, streaks, and badges.

We also collect limited technical data (such as basic device and usage information) needed to keep the service secure and working reliably.

We use data to deliver adaptive lessons, track mastery, show progress to parents and teachers, and improve the quality of our exercises. We never sell or rent student data, and we do not show third-party advertising to students.

Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted to authorized personnel, and payment information is handled by our payment processor (Stripe) — we do not store full card numbers. We retain learning records only as long as an account is active or as required to provide the service, and we delete records on verified request.
