1Getting Started

How you sign up depends on your age. Find your situation below and follow the steps.

Age 13+: I sign up myself
  1. 1Tap Sign Up Free and enter your birth month and year. If you are old enough for your region, you can create your own account.
  2. 2Choose a display name (a nickname is fine), your email, and a password. Confirm you accept the Terms and Privacy Policy. You can also tap Continue with Google, below the blue Continue button.
  3. 3Check your inbox for a 6-digit code and type it in to confirm your email. If it hasn't arrived, tap Resend code.
  4. 4Pick your grade and your language (English or French). You can change these later in your profile.
  5. 5Your account starts with a 7-day free trial, with no credit card needed. After that, you get 5 free exercises every day. Upgrade any time from the Pricing page to unlock everything.
Younger: a parent signs me up
  1. 1On the sign-up screen, enter the child's birth month and year. If they are under the age for your region, we switch to the guardian route automatically.
  2. 2The grown-up signs up with THEIR email and ticks the guardian-consent box, giving permission on the child's behalf.
  3. 3Check your inbox and type in the 6-digit code from the confirmation email to verify your consent. This keeps the account safe and compliant.
  4. 4Add the child's first name or nickname and pick their grade. The grown-up stays in charge of the account and its data.
  5. 5Hand the device to your child and let them start practicing. You can review or delete data any time from account settings.

2Your Home Base

After you log in, the dashboard brings your progress, your next step, and your rewards together.

Up Next & Resume

Your dashboard remembers exactly where you stopped. The Up Next card lets you jump straight back into the topic you were working on, and its Daily Challenge button opens the NANA Math Arena.

Day Streak

Practice on consecutive days to build a streak. It is a gentle nudge to keep a daily habit — the single strongest predictor of long-term progress.

Points Earned

Every correct answer earns points. They add up across topics so you can see effort turn into a growing score, and they feed your ranking in the arena.

The Sidebar Map

The sidebar takes you everywhere: My Dashboard, Interactive Lessons, Progress Tracking, Formulas, the NANA Math Arena and My Account. Middle and high school students also reach the Exam Room from a card on the dashboard. On phones it tucks into a menu button so the screen stays clean.

3Your Math Tools

The Math Toolkit and Formulas turn tricky problems into something you can see, solve step by step, and look up.

Graphing Tool

Part of the Math Toolkit. Type an equation and watch it plotted instantly, so abstract functions become something you can see and explore.

Step-by-Step Solver

Also in the Toolkit. Enter a problem and the solver walks through each step, so you learn the method — not just the final answer.

Graphing Calculator

Also in the Toolkit. It works like a handheld graphing calculator: enter functions in Y=, set the Window, then graph, trace and zoom, or view a table of values. It also covers statistics and regressions, matrices and finance problems. Your functions and settings are saved to your account, so they are still there next time.

Math Formulas

A searchable reference of the key formulas for your grade, always a click away while you practice. Without an account you can open 5 formulas from your level; a free account opens 10; paid plans unlock every level, full search and unlimited favorites.

4Go Deeper

Beyond the core topics, two special threads connect math to culture and prepare older students for a complete function study.

African Fractals

A thread of topics built on the self-repeating patterns in African design, such as Kente borders. It runs from Kindergarten (Repeating Patterns in African Art) through Grade 5 (Scaling & Self-Similarity), Grade 7 (Counting by Powers) and Grade 10 (Geometric Sequences in Fractals) to Grade 12 (Perimeter, Area & Infinity). Reach 80% mastery in one to earn the Fractal Explorer badge.

Studying a Function (Part 1) — Grade 11

Learn the first half of a function study without derivatives: domain, range, intercepts, parity (even or odd) and the asymptotes of rational functions. Some questions ask you to type the answer, others to pick the matching graph.

Full Study of a Function — Grade 12

Complete the study: derivative, sign of f′, table of variations, local maximum and minimum, concavity and inflection points. Final questions link it all to a picture, for example choosing the graph that matches a table of variations.

Step by Step (Grades 10, 11 and 12)

See how real exercises are solved, one step at a time. Open it from the Step by Step card on your dashboard; it opens on your own grade, with tabs for Grades 10, 11 and 12. Grade 10 has seven chapters (quadratic equations, functions and their graphs, right-triangle trigonometry, similar triangles and circles, coordinate geometry, probability and statistics, exponential growth and decay); Grades 11 and 12 have seven more (arithmetic and geometric sequences, complex numbers, permutations and combinations, limits, derivatives, integrals). Every chapter has 3 solved exercises. Read the exercise, then reveal the solution one step at a time: each step shows the formula used and the common mistake to avoid, and the example ends with the method to remember. Visitors can open 1 complete example; a free account opens 3 examples from your own grade; paid plans open every example, add Try first (answer a quick question before each step is revealed) and Practice similar exercises.

Two ways to study a function

In the function study workspace, pick a mode. Step by step: type each answer as you go and tap Check, or Show me this step if you are stuck. On my own: do the whole study on paper or in the built-in scratchpad, then enter your final answers. The scratchpad is not graded or saved.

5Challenge Yourself

When you are ready to test yourself, three modes push your skills: a timed practice test, a solo speed run, and a live race against friends.

Timed Practice Test (Exam Prep)

Simulate a real exam under time pressure pick 10 questions in 15 minutes, 15 in 25, or 20 in 35. A calm way to build test-day confidence.

Exam Room: full mock exams

For middle and high school students. Open it from the Enter the Exam Room card on your dashboard. Sit full papers in the style of the Bac, the Première early exam, the Brevet, the BEPC, the SAT or AP. Each paper shows its exam, region, duration and calculator rule before you start. These are original papers written in the style of the official exams, not official papers.

Sitting a mock exam

Choose how you will answer: everything on screen, or on paper, then send photos of your pages. The timer starts as soon as you begin and cannot be paused, even if you close the page. You get one attempt per paper, and when time runs out your paper is handed in automatically. Follow the calculator rule for each part. Leaving the page and pasting are recorded and visible to your teacher.

Results, marking and access

After you hand in, you see the solution and marking scheme, a detailed marking of each question and an estimated mark. Final answers are checked by our math engines; the overall mark is an AI estimate, for guidance only, and does not replace a teacher. Anyone can browse the list of papers without an account. A free account lets you sit 1 full mock exam; paid plans unlock every paper.

NANA Math Arena: Solo Speed Run

Always available. Solve 15 questions as fast as you can, then see where you land on the weekly leaderboard alongside classmates and practice bots. Motivation, never pressure.

NANA Math Arena: Live Challenge

Race friends in real time. One player creates a room and shares its code; up to 6 players then answer the same 15 questions at the same moment.

6Staying Connected

Internet not perfect where you are? KONEssance Math is built to keep working and never lose your progress.

Sync Status: Online

The badge at the top shows Online when your connection is healthy. Your progress saves automatically to your account as you go.

Works when the internet is sketchy

If you go offline — common on the move or in some regions — the badge turns to Offline with a count of changes waiting. You can keep practicing; nothing is lost.

Automatic catch-up sync

The moment you reconnect, queued changes sync on their own. You can also open the badge and tap Sync now to push them immediately.

One device at a time

For account safety, a profile stays signed in on one device at a time — but your progress follows you to any device you log in on.

7For Classrooms

Using KONEssance Math with a school? Here is how students, teachers, and districts connect.

Join a Class

Got a class code from your teacher? Open Join a Class, type the code, and your account links to their classroom so your teacher can set work and see progress.

Teacher Portal

Teachers sign in at the Teacher portal to create classes, share join codes, assign topics, and follow each student's mastery — all in one place.

District Portal

Schools and districts get their own portal for managing multiple teachers and classrooms, with data agreements handled at the district level.

8Young Learners (K to 5)

Students in Kindergarten to Grade 5 see a set of activities on their dashboard. Each one only appears for the grades it suits, and every correct answer adds to the student's points.

Math Stories (K to Grade 5)

Short word problems set at the market, at home, at school and on the savanna, each with a picture. Every round is built fresh from story templates, with new names, animals, items and numbers, so the stories keep changing. Kindergarten to Grade 2 get counting, adding and taking away; Grades 3 to 5 also get multiplying and sharing. If an answer is wrong, the student tries again; after a correct answer, a short explanation shows how to find it.

Practice Garden

A calm, untimed game for the youngest learners: count objects, add small numbers and compare which group has more. Each round has 5 stepping stones; a first-try answer earns 2 stars, a second try earns 1. The best score is remembered on this device.

Times Tables Trainer (Grades 3 to 5)

Pick a table from 2 to 12 and answer 10 facts. A fact counts as known after 2 correct answers in a row; missed facts come back in Practice my tricky facts until they stick. Progress is kept on this device.

Time & Money (Grades 1 to 4)

Move the hands of the clock to the time asked, then pay at the market by picking the right coins and notes in your local currency.

Shapes & Measuring (K to Grade 3)

Three short activities: name a shape, decide whether a fold line is a line of symmetry, and measure a pencil in centimeters with a ruler.

Daily Mini-Challenge

One quick question a day on the dashboard. Answering on consecutive days builds a small streak, kept on this device.

Listen when you want

Stories, questions and explanations are never read aloud on their own. Tap the speaker button (Read it to me or Listen) to hear them in the device's own voice, in English or French. This keeps classrooms quiet and lets each child choose.

Parent Corner

For grown-ups: the day streak, correct answers and points, plus what was practised this week, topics that need help, strong topics and topics not started yet.

9Account, Privacy & Help

You are always in control of your account, your data, and how the app looks — and help is one tap away.

Accessibility options

Turn on high-contrast colors, a dyslexia-friendly font, or larger text from your settings — so the app is comfortable for every learner.

See or delete your data

You (or a guardian) can export a copy of your data or permanently delete the account at any time from account settings — no emails required.

Get help fast

The support chat bubble is on every page. Ask a question in plain language and it points you to the right feature or a human when needed.
